I’m Henk van Lambalgen — a wedding photographer from Meppel with one clear mission: to translate your wedding day into an honest, cinematic and emotional document. My work is built on connection; I don’t stand at a distance recording events, but move among you and your loved ones. That’s how images are created that not only show what happened, but also evoke feeling and memory. Light and atmosphere are everything to me. Photography is light — I look for soft, natural light and use it to give the moments that matter extra strength. I describe my style as grainy and cinematic: restrained, with space for emotion. I work in a documentary way so the day unfolds organically, but I can also move in quickly to create relaxed portraits when it fits. I prepare, get to know you and create an easy atmosphere on the day itself — often it feels as if I’m simply part of the gathering. I regularly travel within the Netherlands and abroad for destination weddings; that adds extra dynamics to the images and creates an unforgettable mood. A wedding album is not optional for me but the highlight of a reportage. Photos don’t belong on a hard drive; they belong on the best paper, in a handmade fine-art album. Together we design an album that becomes a stamp of your time — a family document with lasting value. In addition to wedding photography I offer workshops and mentoring for (emerging) wedding photographers. This is secondary to my main work, but what I share comes directly from practice: making contact, telling a story, workflow and post-production. Occasionally I also do engagement shoots, maternity sessions and family shoots — always with the same vision: see less, feel more.
