Specialist in wedding photography in Meppel: Kirsten captures your wedding day and couple shoots in a pure, warm and relaxed way. Emotional, atmospheric wedding photos to cherish forever.
As a wedding photographer based in Meppel, I capture your wedding day exactly as it feels: pure, warm and genuine. I’m Kirsten van der Meer and my approach focuses on catching real emotions and spontaneous moments. My images have a warm tone and a natural atmosphere — so you can relive the feeling of the day again and again. Why choose me as your wedding photographer? I work with care and calm: we start with a no-obligation meeting to feel the connection and discuss your wishes. On the day itself I create a relaxed atmosphere so you can be yourselves. My style leans toward documentary wedding photography: I document natural moments and complement them with loving portraits of the two of you. I love the golden hour; that soft, warm light gives wedding photos a little extra magic. How I work: we begin with a personal conversation so I understand your day, schedule and priorities. There is often room for a couple shoot (engagement or pre-wedding shoot) beforehand or on the day — this helps us get to know each other and results in more relaxed, natural images. During the coverage I watch for light, emotion and connection; I don’t interfere in a disruptive way but stay alert to the small and large moments that tell the story of your wedding day. What drives me is creating meaningful memories: images you can share with your partner, family and maybe one day your children. As a mother and someone who spent many years working in education alongside photography, I understand how important calm attention and patience are — even on busy, emotional days. Since the summer of 2025 I have been working full-time as a photographer, and you’ll notice the care and dedication I bring to every wedding. Practical information: I am located in Meppel and prefer to work regionally, with attention to your venue and atmosphere. Please note: I focus on photographing preparations, the ceremony, the meeting and the bridal reportage; I’m generally not available for late evening parties. Interested or want to meet first? I’d love to get in touch to see if we click and how I can best capture your wedding day. A wedding reportage is more than photos — it’s preserving a story. Together we’ll create images you’ll enjoy for years to come.
