I am Femke van Althuis, a wedding photographer based in Emmeloord, and my mission is to document your wedding day in a warm, natural way. I love photographing people in their most spontaneous moments. For me, wedding photography isn’t about stiff poses but about real emotion, small details and the connections between you and your loved ones. My approach is personal and calm. Before your wedding day we always get in touch so I understand your wishes and the flow of the day. Many couples also choose an engagement session beforehand: it’s a great way to get to know each other, ease the nerves and make you feel relaxed and confident in front of the camera on the big day. On the wedding day itself I mostly work documentary-style with an eye for detail. I look for fleeting glances, unexpected bursts of laughter and intimate moments between the two of you. At the same time I don’t miss the important events — from preparations and the ceremony to congratulations and the party — so you receive a complete wedding reportage that tells the story of the day. My style is warm, honest and natural; the photos should bring back the atmosphere of the day whenever you look at them. I frequently work in and around Emmeloord, and I’m also regularly working in Friesland. Whether it’s an intimate ceremony or a larger celebration, I adapt to your wishes and create a relaxed atmosphere where you can truly be yourselves. After the shoot you’ll receive the photos in a clear online gallery so you can view and select the images at your leisure.
