I’m Sandy from Mijn Kijk op de Wereld — a wedding photographer based in Harlingen. My working method springs from wonder: I observe what moves people and connect that with the surroundings. As a wedding photographer I focus on bridal photography that isn’t posed but alive — on the in-between moments, the glance just before, or the laugh right after. Those sincere, intimate moments are for me the essence of a wedding reportage. My style is airy and natural. I prefer beautiful outdoor locations and allow the landscape to play a role in the composition: sometimes vast and open, sometimes close and intimate. That balance between human scale and a larger setting creates wedding photos that convey both emotion and context. Your wedding day is recorded as a coherent visual story — honest, warm and full of spontaneity. As a specialist in wedding photography I place great value on creating a relaxed atmosphere. During our introduction we discuss your wishes, the places that matter and the moments you find important. On the day itself I work discreetly and purposefully: I don’t direct with imposed poses but look for natural interactions and small gestures that make your story unique. The result is a carefully curated selection of high-quality wedding photos that return the feeling of your day. My experience (more than twenty years of photography, with training and work at home and abroad) helps me sense quickly when a moment unfolds. I’m used to working with different lighting conditions and landscapes and enjoy using creative framing and vivid color where it fits.
