As a wedding photographer based in Nijmegen I combine my background in the film world with a calm, human approach. My work is rooted in reportage photography: I tell your wedding story as a cohesive sequence, full of small, meaningful moments. For me, great wedding photography is about emotion, timing and composition — and about capturing those moments without making you feel like the day is being lived through a lens. From my time as a camera and lighting assistant I brought technical knowledge and a cinematic eye. I use that experience to shape light, movement and color deliberately, while remaining classic in composition: clean lines, symmetry and careful lens choices. My telephoto lens is often my best friend; it lets me get close without being intrusive — exactly how I like to describe myself: a fly on the wall. My working method is simple and people-focused. We start with a personal introduction — usually a phone call and then a meeting if we click. We talk about your wishes, the atmosphere you want and the people who matter. When possible I visit the venue in advance to avoid surprises on the big day. On the day itself I move discreetly among your guests: sometimes I have to run for the perfect shot, but the aim is always to capture authentic moments unnoticed. After the wedding you’ll receive a preview within a few days so the memory starts to live right away. I carry out the final selection and editing with care: subtle, purposeful and in keeping with the mood of your day. I deliver images suitable for print and online use. Although wedding photography is my specialty, I also offer engagement and loveshoots when desired — a great way to get to know each other and to practise being relaxed in front of the camera before the big day.
