I’m Milou van der Will, a wedding photographer based in Hilversum. My approach to wedding photography is simple: I look for the moments when you are most yourselves. Those moments become the images that, later on, bring you back to how it felt — small, real and moving. For me a wedding reportage is about connection. Not only the connection between the two of you, but also with the people around you: parents, friends, children. I work with a calm, documentary mindset: I observe a lot, step in subtly when needed, and guide you toward the best light and the most natural poses. The result is imagery that doesn’t feel staged but is thoughtfully composed and evocative — perfect for your home, your wedding album or a wall in your house. Choosing a wedding photographer is about the chemistry. That’s why I find an initial meeting important: a conversation, a chance to meet and see if the energy is right. On the wedding day I try to recreate that same sense of trust. I float through the day, attentive to intimate moments — a touch, a laugh, a tear. At the same time I make space for calm portraits where you can breathe together and truly see each other — without it feeling like a forced obligation. As a maker and storyteller I’m sensitive to light, composition and texture. That sensitivity translates into wedding photographs with a warm, timeless look: colour and black-and-white images that together tell your story. I’m happy to work in and around Hilversum, and I also travel with pleasure to special locations across the Netherlands — from heathland and beaches to cosy urban settings.
