I am Sonja Stengewis, a wedding photographer from Purmerend. Since turning my passion into my profession in 2010, wedding reportages have been the highlight of my work. I choose couples not only because I love beautiful images, but because I find it meaningful to capture those fleeting, genuine moments: unexpected glances, laughing guests, and the small details that make a wedding day unique. My approach to wedding photography is personal and calm. I prefer to work unobtrusively and with an eye for detail; this way natural wedding photos emerge that never feel forced. Your day—as it really was—is central: from the preparations to the party. I combine an engaged presence with room for spontaneity so that the visual story later effortlessly tells the tale of your wedding day. I believe a pre-shoot meeting is important. In a no-obligation conversation we discuss your wishes, the schedule, and the atmosphere you envision. Many couples appreciate a loveshoot or engagement session as preparation: it’s a relaxed way to get to know each other in front of the camera, and it also produces beautiful images you can use for invitations or announcements. I am flexible with location and timing; whether you choose an intimate ceremony near Purmerend or a larger venue elsewhere, I’m happy to come and think along with you. During the reportage I take my time and create a warm, relaxed atmosphere where you can be yourselves. My experience allows me to quickly spot and capture the right moments without disturbing the day. After the reportage you will receive carefully edited images that strengthen your story.
