I’m Ed — a wedding photographer from Deventer with a clear mission: to capture your day as it feels, not as it’s supposed to look. My style is bold and no-nonsense; I like to come close, to catch genuine emotion and to create powerful black-and-white portraits. That means no overly posed images, but photographs that move you and evoke memories. As a specialist in wedding photography I work from a calm, attentive stance. The best photos come when people feel comfortable, so I always start with a pleasant conversation — often I’ll visit you at home so we can get to know each other. When the right ‘click’ is there, we plan the day together: from preparations through the ceremony to the reception. Would you like an engagement session (a loveshoot) beforehand? That’s part of my approach: it helps you relax in front of the camera and produces beautiful, personal images. On the wedding day itself I stay as unobtrusive as possible. My aim is that couples later say: “We hardly noticed you” — that’s the highest compliment. At the same time I stay alert for moments that matter: secret looks, tears of joy, small gestures between you, or reactions from family and friends. I work in a documentary style but I’m happy to make a few considered portraits so that in twenty years you still know exactly how it felt. Every selected image receives careful treatment; post-processing is done in my own recognisable way so you receive a true Klappe series. I deliver high-resolution files and can create a hand-bound album with you — a physical keepsake that lasts generations. Because I give wedding reportage my full attention, I photograph no more than 20 weddings per year. That way each couple receives the time and dedication they deserve. Interested?
