I’m Roland Jansen of Jansen Wedding Photography in Steenwijk. With more than twenty years of experience I have one clear passion: capturing the right moment. As a wedding photographer I focus primarily on wedding photography and wedding reportage — images that are not only beautiful but also tell a story. My philosophy is simple: you don’t just take photos, you make them. That’s why I stay alert, with eyes (and ears) open, ready to capture that first kiss, a genuine laugh or an unexpected tear. My style is narrative and attentive. I prefer to work in a way that feels natural; unobtrusive during the ceremony yet present at all the important moments. This results in wedding photos that bring you back to how it felt that day — not only how it looked. I combine documentary-style moments with subtle posed portraits where needed, so your album becomes a balanced and personal wedding reportage. Collaboration is central to my approach. We’ll meet beforehand so I can learn your wishes, the locations and the atmosphere of the day. Many couples also opt for a pre-wedding (engagement) shoot to get comfortable with each other and with me in front of the camera — this creates relaxed images and builds trust for the big day. On the wedding day itself I ensure a calm, professional atmosphere; I offer guidance where needed and leave room for spontaneity. Although wedding photography is my core specialty, I also offer options such as pre-wedding shoots and family shoots to complete the story around your wedding or family. My work stems from a love of the craft and the belief that the smallest moments are often the most meaningful.
