I’m Carmen, a wedding photographer based in Merenwijk (Leiden). My aim is simple: not just to record your wedding day, but to tell its story. For me, photography is painting with light—add love and a little magic happens. As a wedding photographer I work from a documentary perspective: I seek out the small, nostalgic moments that later become the big memories. Why choose my wedding photography? I combine an artistic eye with a relaxed, personal approach. My style is soft, emotional and timeless; I pay attention to light, texture and subtle interactions — a hand resting on another, a smile that appears suddenly, a quiet look between two people. Those images form the heart of a wedding reportage and later return to you how it really felt that day. How I work: we’ll get in touch beforehand so I can learn your story and expectations. On the wedding day I create a calm atmosphere and give gentle, clear guidance when needed — this results in natural images that are carefully composed. My approach is inviting and unobtrusive: I observe, anticipate and capture moments without over-directing. For engagement shoots and intimate pre-wedding moments I use the same approach: attention to authenticity and connection. Experience and commitment: since my first paid shoot in 2019 I’ve had the privilege of documenting over 100 stories. I speak Dutch and English and draw creative inspiration from my background as a musician and illustrator — this translates into rhythm, composition and an eye for detail in my wedding photography. I’m driven by a desire to create lasting, meaningful images that you can cherish for generations.
