As a wedding photographer working under the name DefotoJonge, I — Arjan de Jonge — capture your wedding day as it truly felt: pure, spontaneous and full of emotion. Based in Wijk bij Duurstede, I shoot frequently in the Utrecht region, but I’m equally happy to travel across the Netherlands to tell your story. My focus is on documentary wedding reportage: minimal direction, close attention to small gestures, glances and those priceless moments that bring the day back to life every time you look at the images. That relaxed presence results in images that truly feel authentic. How I work: we always start with a no-obligation meeting. That first ‘click’ is important: when there’s a connection, trust follows and you’ll feel relaxed on the day itself. On the wedding day I stay as invisible as possible; I document moments rather than force them. Of course I’ll guide short moments for portraits and group photos, but most of the reportage is documentary photography that tells the story of your day — from morning preparations to the first dance. In addition to full wedding coverage, I also offer loveshoots — a relaxed way to get to know each other and the camera beforehand. Many couples use these engagement or pre-wedding sessions to feel more comfortable and to create personal images for invitations or keepsakes. My work is driven by a love for people and photographic curiosity. Since 2013 I have been working as an independent wedding photographer, combining professional equipment with a calm, human approach.
